Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name is often credited for starting the modern research into the study of memories of eyewitnesses and children's victimes as witness in lawful contexts. Professor Goodman is the author of a wide range of research publications as well as numerous awards to her credit, is also the recipient of numerous international and national awards. She consults with numerous nations and organizations around the globe regarding policy as well as the study of children's victimization within the court system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Prof. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice.
